The staff were very kind to us and were a valuable resource for good restaurants.
There was a noisy air exchanger in the area outside our window.

A quiet family-run B&B in a mansion located about half-way between the archeological park of Neapolis and Ortigia, and a short walk from the bus station. Good breakfast with Grandma still helping to make the home-made jams and cakes! Very friendly welcome; eldest daughter (fluent Spanish and Danish from student days!) most helpful in trying the sort out the discrepancies between the printed and on-line versions of the Trenitalia railway timetable. We still missed the Treno del Barocco to Ragusa, but what a great excuse to go back...

The metal bedhead creaked a bit and there were no drawers for clothes but these were a very minor detail.

We stayed two nights in Syrachuse. The building was beautiful and spacious with a traditional large wooden door and there's a lift from ground floor. There is nothing I can really fault on, the size of the room was big enough (not huge but sufficient definitely) and the bathroom was large. The place was spotless, well cleaned everyday. There was good aircon, our room was very quite and the courtyard was pretty with seating space. The location is walking distance to Ortygia. All in all, one of the best places we stayed in Sicily for this price.
